Dynamic Target Tracking Camera System

Fast object tracking camera demonstration, capturing and focusing at 1/1000th of a second - very impressive - video embedded below:

This camera system can track very fast moving objects, keeping them in the center of the screen at all times. Currently under development by the Ishikawa Oku Lab. at the University of Tokyo, this latest version captures Full HD video and can be used outdoors.

“Ordinarily, to change the direction a camera faces, you move the camera mechanically. But in this system, it’s not the camera that moves, it’s the mirrors. This makes it possible to change where you’re looking really quickly. In this demonstration, we’re tracking a table tennis ball. The ball moves extremely fast, but this system can keep compensating for the ball’s motion, so the ball stays in the middle of the image.”

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some kind of music video made with this to arrive soon …

Upgraded Macbook Airs with longer battery life and with better specs in the $999 base model, but no bump in screen resolution.

Completely redesigned Mac Pro. It will come with stuff and cost you a fortune.

Overhauled iOS7 with cleaner design and a lot of new features such as a new control center with short cuts and better multitasking.

iTunes iRadio is Apple’s Pandora-like music streaming service. USP? Led Zeppelin!

OSX Mavericks is the new desktop OS. Will ship with a new version of Safari.

iWork for iCloud is Apple’s answer to Google ~~Docs~~ Drive.

Apple distances itself further away from Google with Bing as default search engine in Siri.

New Airport Extreme and Time Capsule models with faster Wi-Fi and up to 3TB of storage.

There were some car integration stuff introduced as well. But nothing about Apple TV. Take your time Apple.

A 3D Printing system that can create forms without the hindrance of gravity - video embedded below:

A brand new method of additive manufacturing. This patent-pending method allows for creating 3D objects on any given working surface independently of its inclination and smoothness, and without a need of additional support structures. Conventional methods of additive manufacturing have been affected both by gravity and printing environment: creation of 3D objects on irregular, or non-horizontal surfaces has so far been treated as impossible . By using innovative extrusion technology we are now able to neutralize the effect of gravity during the course of the printing process. This method gives us a flexibility to create truly natural objects by making 3D curves instead of 2D layers. Unlike 2D layers that are ignorant to the structure of the object, the 3D curves can follow exact stress lines of a custom shape. Finally, our new out of the box printing method can help manufacture structures of almost any size and shape.
